Black History Heroes Essay Competition
DEADLINE:
Sunday, February 27, 2022
PARTICIPANTS:
Must be between 5 and 9 years of age to enter.
PROMPTS:
For the essay, you will write a 100-200 word essay on a Hero in Black History using the following prompts:
1.) Identify your black hero;
2.) Provide a brief biographical statement of your hero (3-5 sentences);
3.) Provide a written a reflection on your hero's accomplishments and contributions;
4.) Provide a statement on why this individual is important to you and why you chose them as your hero;
5.) Provide a statement on why all individuals should know about your hero.
AGE CATEGORIES:
One winner will be selected from the 5-7 age category.
One winner will be selected from the 8-9 category.
PRIZE:
The winner from each category will receive a cash prize of $50.
